Kristi Schliep

Walking with individuals and communities to discover how the story of Jesus restores and re-stories us.

Living in the Biblical Narrative with Jesus as the Center of the Story

Whether it is walking with staff through cross-cultural transition or discipling communities in matters of sexuality, Kristi explores how the story of Scripture transforms the world and our lives. A few years ago, she started listening to the Lectio 365 app. On Sabbaths, the closing prayer includes a line of invitation: May God’s image in me be restored and my imagination in God be re-storied. As Kristi walks alongside individuals and communities through the framework of the Biblical narrative, her prayer is for that story to be transformational. May everyone be drawn closer to Jesus, the true hero of the best story. May His story be etched upon our hearts until the day we are fully re-storied.

Stories

“Who am I, really?” is a question that follows us throughout every chapter in our stories. Kristi Schliep has been my personal friend and professional mentor for years, directing me to view my story, and the story of all God’s image bearers, through the eyes of our hugely powerful, yet intimately connected King Jesus.

Kristi lives life with a vulnerable heart toward God, knowing and trusting that the ending of God’s story always makes the challenges and victories of daily life worth it. Her example and personal investment in me consistently invite me to reframe every moment of my life in Christ, God’s handiwork to bring about His glory and my good.

My love for Jesus has been deeply shaped by the ways Kristi walked with me, inviting me to know Jesus in all my mess. Kristi’s consistent presence as a mentor and basketball coach provided a safe space where I learned that Jesus sees me in all my anger and sits with me in all my big questions.
